About Marilyn

Marilyn Klisser has danced all her life. Starting with dancing Classical Ballet from 4 years of age on and turning to Salsa dancing in 2000, dance has always been her passion.

She has taught Large Group and Private Salsa classes for over 10 years, always informing her students that Salsa not only is a fun and physical workout, but it's great for the brain.

In 2016 Marilyn started her Non Profit, "Dance Away Dementia" after reading numerous articles, including finding a new study in the New England Journal of Medicine stating dancing with a partner is the only physical activity associated with a lower risk of dementia. Marilyn has a love for dancing and a huge heart for helping others. She was a finalist in the World Salsa Championships / World Latin Dance cup in 2007 and 2010.

Her mission is to encourage more adults to take up partner dancing, (Tango, Salsa, Swing, any dance requiring a partner) as a hobby. She especially wants to encourage men, and let them know that dancing is like a sport. Just like in Golf, Tennis or Football, it takes time to learn the technique and then of course, practice, practice, practice!

Partner dancing is fun, social, brings people together, has numerous health benefits and reduces the risk of Alzheimers / Dementia.

Please join her in her mission to get the world dancing!
